Propylene Glycol Ethers

Propylene Glycol Ethers (PGEs) are high performance solvents used in numerous industrial applications, including cleaners, inks, paints, and coatings. Other uses and applications for PGEs include agricultural, cosmetic, electronic, ink, textile and adhesive products.

PGEs are used in advanced formulations, solvents with preferable toxicity and regulatory profiles, and broad base usage in industrial cleaning and manufacturing settings.

Below are several of the propylene glycol ethers we supply for our customers. For more information or assistance, please feel free to contact us.

Glycol Ether DPM

Dipropylene Glycol (Mono) Methyl Ether) is a colorless, combustible liquid with low toxicity having a mild, pleasant odor. It is completely water soluble, miscible with a number of organic solvents and has good solvency for a number of substances.

Glycol Ether DPMA

Dipropylene Glycol (Mono) Methyl Ether Acetate – is a colorless, combustible liquid with low toxicity. It has a characteristic mild ester odor and has low viscosity, making it a good viscosity control agent.  It is a powerful solvent with a moderate evaporation rate and provides good coalescing ability.

Glycol Ether DPNB

Dipropylene Glycol Normal Butyl Ether – is a colorless liquid with a mild odor and low volatility. It has low water solubility, good coupling and demonstrates good solvency for coating resins. The properties of DPNB support its use in agricultural, coating, cleaning, ink, textile, and adhesive products.

Glycol Ether DPnP

DPnP solvent is a colorless liquid with low toxicity and a low odor. Its low evaporation rate coupled with its hydrophilic and hydrophobic nature makes DPnP a good coupling agent and solvent. It is moderately water soluble, yet an efficient surface tension reducer.

Glycol Ether PM

Propylene Glycol (Mono) Methyl Ether – is a colorless, flammable liquid with low toxicity, having a mild, pleasant odor. It is completely water soluble, miscible with a number of organic solvents, and has good solvency for a number of substances.

Glycol Ether PMA

(Mono) Propylene Glycol (Mono) Methyl Ether Acetate – is a colorless, combustible liquid with low toxicity. It has a characteristic ester odor and is soluble in water to the extent of 18% at 20°C. It has excellent solvency for a variety of substances including acrylic, nitrocellulose and urethane coating resins. PMA is a substitute for certain ethylene glycol (E-series) ether acetates, particularly EEA and EMA.

Glycol Ether PNB

(Mono) Propylene Glycol Normal Butyl Ether – is a colorless combustible liquid with an ether-like odor. It has low water solubility and good coupling and demonstrates good solvency for coating resins. The properties of PNB support its use in agricultural, coating, cleaning, ink, textile and adhesive products. It is a good substitute for ethylene glycol ethers including ethylene glycol butyl ether (EB).

Glycol Ether PNP

(Mono) Propylene Glycol Normal Propyl Ether – is a colorless, flammable liquid with an ether-like odor. It is completely water-soluble and has good coupling. It demonstrates good solvency for coating resins. The properties of PNP support its use in coatings, cleaning, ink, agricultural, textile and adhesive products. PNP and blends are substitutes for many ethylene glycol (E-series) ethers.

Glycol Ether TPM

Tripropylene Glycol (Mono) Methyl Ether – is a colorless, combustible liquid with low toxicity. It has very little odor and is completely soluble in water. It has excellent solvency for many polar and non-polar substances. TPM has a very low vapor pressure and may not be considered a VOC under some circumstances of use. TPM is a good substitute for slow evaporating ethylene glycol (E- series) ethers.
