Dimethyl Adipate in Stripping and Cleaning Applications
DMA is an excellent stand-alone solvent or co-solvent for stripping, resin removal and industrial cleaning applications.
Customer testing has demonstrated that a higher concentration of Dimethyl Adipate may result in increased cleaning efficacy in paint stripping formulations, concrete and asphalt cleaners, hard surface cleaners, cosmetic applications, metal working fluids and ink removers.
Environmental, Health and Safety Attributes
DMA also features a favorable environmental, health and safety profile when compared to many traditional solvents used in industrial cleaning applications.
For example, due to its low vapor pressure, Dimethyl Adipate is considered an LVP-VOC pursuant to consumer products regulations applicable to industrial cleaners.
DMA is also readily biodegradable, non-flammable, non-corrosive and highly miscible with other co-solvents. It is recognized by the EPA as a Safer Chemical Ingredient.
As a result of its performance benefits and preferable EH&S profile, many industrial formulators and solvent end-users are now interested in DMA due to its potential to replace or reduce commonly used solvents such as methylene chloride, NMP and acetone.
Sta-Sol® ESS 165
Sta-Sol® ESS 165 is a purified grade of Dimethyl Adipate used by formulators and solvent end-users in a wide range of stripping and cleaning applications.
Sta-Sol® ESS 165 may also be used as in resin formulations, oilfield applications, ink compounds, and more.
This solvent may replace or reduce usage of traditional cleaning solvents such as methylene chloride, acetone and NMP.
